What you need to know about what is going on in the pokemon world is your journey through it. You'll usually start at the hometown may it be Pallet or New Bark or something else you will be given your first pokemon and that is when your own personal pokemon journey starts battling fellow trainers meeting new pokemon and winning badges. Of course you need to gain the badges in order to get ot other places in some chances, but most of the time you go in order of the cities not to mention how the normal walkthrough goes in the usual Pokemon Games on Game Boy. But beware of the teams at hand for you wil have to face Team Rocket, Team Magma, Team Aqua, and Team Galactic. Except there is one or two teams that are devoted to helping and saving pokemon who've been stolen or abandoned. Besides that just go out ther collect your pokemon defeat the trainers and Gym Leaders, get some money and live your life as a normal teenager on a Pokemon Journey.
