It wasn't that late in the day when Shun arrived at the entrance of Pallet Town, and he was filled with energy. Two Pidgey flew by above him and landed on a nearby roof, both cooing their name. A smile spread across the young boy's face as he examined the casualness of the town. Growing up in Celadon City, the town was a different experiance for Shun. The houses were small and even the largest building didn't surpass two stories in height. Peaceful, was the only word that came to mind.
Shun was directed two weeks ago to arrive in Pallet on this day to retrieve his first Pokemon. It was a time consuming yet easy-going voyage. He lost his traveling companion hired by Shun's mother to assist with the travels, after all without a Pokemon the world can be a dangerous place. Now Shun was left on his own only with the instructions to meet up with a man named Proffesor Oak to obtain his starting Pokemon.
Specifics were not given on the Pokemon Shun's Mother had ordered for him. She only told him it was the same Pokemon his father had started with, and it had to be speacil ordered. Shun knew enough about Pokemon to know that meant he was not going to get a traditional starting Pokemon issued to those in the Kanto Region, but that left so many others. It was sure to be a great surprise.
Excitement was getting the best of Shun, his mind was woundering. Glancing down the dirt roads of the community he looked for anyone who fit the description of this Proffesor Oak. He was an older man with silver hair, he was supposed to have a personality that could get along with everyone. Shun thought about that and figured it was just an old persons friendly charm. He doubted the man could be found by his personality, especially with how quiet Shun himself was. Yet anyone in the town must know the Proffesor, but people were scarcely about. Not like back in Celadon where people sometimes croweded the busy streets. Here at least you could walk freely down the sidewalk.
