Traning Yet Again...CLOSED

Karasu walked out of Pewter City and followed the main path untill he noticed a small dirt road branching off of the path towards a small mountain in the distance. He decided that it seemed like a good place to train and followed the trail untill he came upon a huge hole in the side of the mountain. It seemed to go more down than forward, and was too dark to see anything. He walked inside, and slid down a large pile of rocks untill he got to a deep tunnel stretching for miles in both directions. He could barely see but decided to continue onward. He then remembered his PokeNav and brought it out. He turned it on and the screen filled the tunnel with a faint blue glow. He continued down the tunnel even further and could hear a faint trickle of water echoing in the distance. He followed it, and came upon a small underground waterway that followed the tunnel's edge. It brought him to a huge waterfall falling down the edge of a large room with a small amount of light peeking through a crack in the distant ceiling. This looked like an excellent area to find a pokemon, so he turned on his PokeRadar and searched for any nearby life.

::A voice came to you in the darkness it was someone who lived in Pewter City who had came out her for a nice hike. he saw you and asked "Have you been to Pewter city and battled the Gym leader?" He didn't wait for you to answer as he continued "Here I'll show you where it is!" He said as he walked back to where you had came. As you wonder why should I have to follow this guy for I should be able to choose my own actions shouldn't I? As you question that for awhile.::

Karasu follows the man (more like pulled along) and finally arrives at the gym. "Err... thanks, I guess, but... the gym leader is already battling someone... meaning I can't go in..." Karasu leaves the man and travels back out of Pewter. He finds the path and travels to the cave, for he was seemed interested in this underground spring. "I don't know if I can find that area again, though if I can find a water source, I can probably follow it towards the spring..." He traveled down the cave, but had an eerie feeling someone, or something, was following him.

::You stop to see if it continues or stops as well which it continues forward it was a bunch of Zubats, golbats, and crobats that whre coming back from hunting and where going to roost for the rest of the day. Which they always flew around these caves in search for anything. You continue to walk forward when you hear a sound of dripping water, but before you can pursue it you run into a fellow hiker trainer that had seen you and asked if you wanted to battle him and his pokemon.::

"Sure, I guess..." Karasu wondered what this trainer was doing here looking for battles but shrugged the thought off due to the fact that it would be good training and also pass the time so he can get into the gym. Karasu finds a steady rock area that had a good view of the battlefield and set down his PokeNav next to his backpack with it's light shining towards the area. Karasu stands there, waiting for the trainer to make his move.

::The hiker trainer was excited for he didn't meet many people in here for he was on his way to Pewter City he was going to see someone about a job there. As he unleashed a pokeball and it was flung into the air and out popped a Aron which was a metal pokemon and it looked like it was going to evolve very soon into the next stage which would be a lairon. "Alright Metal let's get ready for a good fight!" He said encouraging the little metal pokemon for the following pokemon battle.::

Karasu replies by sending out his Houndour, which was rested and ready for a fight. "Houndour, use Roar followed by an Ember, to start things off!" Houndour let out a deep roar and pounced towards the Aron with a mouth full of flames.

::The trainer sees the healthy Houndour that you had unleashed to battle against his pokemon as the roar didn't do much effect to the Aron, yet the ember had hurt the Aron not to much, but not to little either. As it returned the favor first using Take Down as it rushed you and jumped tackling you and then at the same time used a move called Metal Claw as metallic claws where unsheathed and slashed at the houndour's darkened pelt. As it waits for the reply ready to defend itself from the attacks coming to it. As both trainers guided their pokemon to the best of their experience.::

The Houndour was hurt by both attacks but also enraged at how such a small pokemon could do so much damage. It had some trouble moving on such rocky terrain, but was able to get it's footing and leap onto a nearby large rock. It then located the Aron (which was hard due to the dim light and its small stature) and used Leer to lure the small pokemon towards it. It then leapt at the pokemon and shot out a burning tornado of fire at its enemy, and also lighting the nearby small shrubs growing from the moist dirt ablaze, lighting the battlefield, and causing intense heat, even for both trainers.

::The leer did its trick as the tiny Aron was lured into the trap that the houndour had set in motion for its enemy. As the area between the two pokemon sprang into life and a fire was exploded and surrounded them making it hot around where they where for the houndour had used Fire Spin and now it had trapped the both of them in a vortex of fire as it started to wear down the aron hoping that this way would make it faint faster. AS it countered with a body slam as it leaped into the air preparing for the impact of falling on top of the little canine pokemon.::

The Aron landed directly on the Houndour's back and Houndour was pinned to the floor as this pokemon was heavier than it looked. Houndour eventually got it to roll off and used a close-range Ember at the Aron. The flames were climbing closer to both trainers and Karasu could fell the heat as beads of sweat were appearing on his forehead.

::The up close ember attack hit and injured the aron very much for it was more than the other times of using the ember attack as it backed away in pain as the fire started to wear it down even more. While the trainer outside the battle was taking the heat very well as if he was born in a hot place and was barely even sweating. While apparently the other was taking it not very well. Even the pokemon in the underground stream were about to take action if it wasn't snuffed out soon. As Aron used Metal calw trying to return the favor once more, but knew this time he would probably miss.::

Contrary to the little Aron's beliefs, the Metal Claw slashed the leg of Houndour just as it was leaping towards the Aron, dropping it to the ground. It tried to get up shortly after, but was displeased to see that it's leg was limp and motionless. It compensated by leaning it's body on the face of a rock wall and letting loose a Fire Spin towards Aron. It tried to endure, but fell to the floor once again. It glared up at the Aron, and let loose another Fire Spin. It was nearly out of energy, and was trying to end this battle before it was too late.

::The effect of the first Fire spin was still active and it kept adding to wearing down the aron as it was down to a very small amount of energy itself didn't take much action as it as baring down on the wounded Houndour as it tried to use Take Down, but it just didn't have the strength at the time to use it.::

The Fire Spins flames were still active around them, and were crawling down the cave's river's edge where some plants managed to grow. Both trainers had to move back and could barely see their pokemon. The flames were crackling and spitting in their faces, and Karasu was getting tense. Without being able to see his pokemon or it's opponent, Karasu was unsure of the battle's outcome, or even of his pokemon's safety. Inside the heated arena, Houndour managed to get up out of his mangled state but quickly slumped down due to overwhelming pain. Houndour had obviously underestimated the Aron's weight and it's ability to use it to it's advantage, and was now paying the price for it. Houndour looked up at the Aron. The heat looked like it was getting to it, and Houndour let loose a small Ember in a meager attempt to finnish Aron off.

::The ember cut into the Aron's injuries and caused them to become more than what they where as the fire started to get out of control yet the water pokemon that seemed to call this river home revealed themselves and started dousing the flames with their Water attacks as they poured and the flames became all, but smoke and dwindling embers they saw that the Aron had Fainted by the fire and its injuries. Houndour was injured as well, but it wasn't out yet as it gained two levels for its heroic battle and the trainer recalls his pokemon back saying "Thanks! that was a great battle here!" He siad as he forked over $250 for winning him.::

Karasu recalled his injured Houndour and thanked the stranger as he handed him the money. "That was pretty good battling on your part, I have a feeling that we will be seeing each other again..." Karasu picked up his backpack and PokeNav from the rock (they were both draped with ash), cleaned them off, and placed the PokeNav in his backpack. "I am Karasu Matahara, and you?"

::The trainer saw that you had a poke'nave and notices that he would probably bounce into you sooner or later for another battle. As he answers "You can call me Hiker Dan!" As he gives you his poke'nav number in cause of being in contact again. Then he disappears in the darkness on his way to go revive his pokemon and to finally reach Pewter City. aS you continue on your journey to reach the great Cerulean City and to see the city and of course to battle the gym leader there.::

OOC: I haven't beat Brock yet though

Karasu imputs Dan's number into his PokeNav and decides to climb deeper into the cave, for he needed Squirtle to learn some water-type moves before the big battle with Brock. He continues through the winding tunnels (not forgetting to mark the turns on his PokeNav map so he doesn't get lost) and comes across a room with sunlight pouring in. It was a tall upward crevice where it seemed that the two wall of rock had spread apart, most likely during an earthquake. Karasu could feel the warmth of the sun and thought it was good to get out of that cramped tunnel. He noticed damp clods of dirt falling from the cliff above and figured that if dirt was still falling it must have been made pretty soon. Coming back to reality, Karasu realized that he still needed to train Squirtle, so he searched around for any pokemon he could find.

::You decide to keep Squirtle out just in case you crossed anything that is until you find some kind of rock that semed to be moving on its own. You wonder what it could be. As you wonder it says something "Geo!" As you find out you had come across not a moving rock, but a geodude who was passing through and hadn't noticed you or squirtle yet.::

"This would be great training. Squirtle, use Tackle, followed by Tail Whip, once it notices you." Squirtle walked behind the Geodude, bewildered at this rock-like pokemon, and finally remembered his command and rushed at it for a Tackle.

::The squirtle used tackle which once hitting the geodude it noticed that it was being attacked and went on the offensive using Rock Throw which hit the squirtle as well as the tail whip that happened to cut the geodude's defense was cut.::

Squirtle was pelted with rocks by the enemy Geodude, and even if the rock-type move wasn't very effective to Squirtle's type, it was still dazed enough to keep it from getting close to the Geodude. Geodude finally let up from the Rock Throw and Squirtle used this time to get close enough to use Tackle.

::He swoops in and tackles the geodude full force as it is now dazed by the sudden counter of its Rock Throw as it used Defense Curl to bring its defense up a notch to help it with what it had to endure against this pokemon.::

Squirtle felt confident, so he dove back in for another Tackle. He slammed into Geodude's arm, only to recoil back in pain due to it's rock-hard defence. "Brock will have many pokemon with high defensive capabilities, you hae to be prepared for that." Instead of another physical move, Squirtle let out a Confusion at the still-defending Geodude.

::The confusion hits making the geodude loose more energy from the attack and was starting to feel a little woosy from the attack. aS it tied to use another Rock throw, but the boulders missed completely as they are flung right next to where the squirtle was. As it waits forthe next attack and hopefully pulls out of the minor confusion.::

The Geodude threy rocks violently with only a few hitting Squirtle. Squirtle had appearently broken it's opponent guard and took this time to move in for another Tackle. He barrelled around the stone spirals towards the Geodude, but with Geodude in this state of confusion, there was no telling how it would react to this attack.

::The attack hit knockingthe geodudee out of its semi-confusion as it discovered that you had attacked it. But couldn't reply to the attack for it was losing energy to do anything as it tried barreling forward in an attack of a tackle using what was left of its energy or at least acting energy you could say.::

Squirtle was not expecting for Geodude to attack back and was knocked backwards onto it's shell. It struggled and waved it's arms frantically but wasn't able to get up. It finally was able to roll onto it's side then onto it's stomach, then push itself up. It was kind of dizzy but located the Geodude and sent out another Confusion. It was surprised to find that it's target had now shattered with pieces laying all around the floor. It looked up at Karasu with a bewildered look. Karasu sighed and pointed behind Squirtle. It turned around to find that the Geodude was standing there, unharmed. Squirtle had realized that his target of the Confusion turned out to be just a regular tiny boulder. It let out an angry "Squirt!" and shot another Confusion at the 'real' Geodude.

::The Geodude was blasted backwards by the confusion and hit itself against another boulder as it laid there as still as stone itself it had fainted and Squirtle had gained a level for winning against the Geodude!::

"Good job, but we still need you to learn a water move for the Gym. During the battle, I checked on my PokeNav Information Site and it said that the Gym recently opened for battles. I can see that your not well enough to go through another pokemon battle, so we should get out of this cave and start some light training. I'll bring you out again once we reach the surface." With that said Squirtle was transformed into a red beam of light and sucked into his pokeball. Karasu put the ball away and brought out his PokeNav. He brought up a Notes section and reviewed his previous turns throughout the cave. He followed this map and after about an hour he could see a dim light at the end of the cave. He walked further and exited from the cave. It was now an early dusk out and the sun was starting to set in the distance. Karasu removed the pokeball from his belt and sent out Squirtle. "Hello again, feeling better?" Squirtle nodded, but still had obvious bruises from the rocks thrown at him. "All Squirtles have the ability to produce a stream of water from its mouth, yet most don't fully harness this power untill later. At early ages, Squirtle are only able to spout foam and bubbles. We will be trying to awaken this ability. I don't know the full anatomy of it, though most Squirtle's learn this naturally through training. With the physical wounds on your body, we should try to practice with a ranged move, like Confusion. Try using it on that rock." Karasu motioned to a fairly-large boulder in the distance. Squirtle faced towards it, and prepared for the attack.

::The squirtle used Bubble on the rock as it hit each time the bubbles that hit cut a tiny chunk out of it until it was yet no more. Now the water pokemon awaited for new instructions from his master and best friend. As the sun hung in the balance barely gone, yet still there at the same time as the last rays started to go dwn the horizon and you keep at the trainin. Even though you notice that you would have to make camp sooner or later...::

"Oh, already? Thats great, Squirtle! After we train with this a little, we can go and face Brock!" Squirtle nodded and set his sights on an even bigger rock. He blew a long stream of bubbles at it, and happily watched them flow through the air at their target.

::The bubbles hit the rock and for some reason a sound came from this rock a sound of a pokemon even though it wasn't in the cave it was close enough as it got hit it awoke and as angered. As it saw who had atacked it, it rolled towards you as you're surprised that this rock was an actual pokemon.::

The pokemon rolled into the tiny Squirtle and flung it backwards. "Squirtle, do you think you can handle another pokemon in your condition?" Squirtle got up and winced in pain, but nodded. "Alright, use Bubble! Try to evade it until you can bring it down!" The large boulder-like pokemon, still in a rolling-state, made a U-turn and began to barrel down on Squirtle.

::The pokemon saw after the fact for it had gone so fast that the first time it had connected, yet the second one had ran into a bubble attack as it connected with the boulder looking pokemon now dazed by the attack that had just occured it stood still and immobile for the moment as it waited considering what to do next....::

OOC: Don't know what the pokemon is yet (the boulder was bigger than a Geodude, so i'm kinda worried )

While the pokemon was dazed, Squirtle took this opportunity to blow another stream of bubbles at it's target. After using so many moves and after the fight with the Geodude, Squirtle was starting to weaken, and was losing energy. Karasu was starting to notice this, and clenched Squirtle's pokeball in his hand, just in case.

ooc: graveler!

::The bubble attack hit him again as the boulder of a pokemon came rolling towards this time with a bunch of rocks with him for this pokemon had the power of a rock slide with him this time, but was still no match for the powerful effects of a water attack as it hit lowering it of more energy it was getting sick and tired of being out matched in elements and knew that he should have some way to conteract this little turtle. As it thought of something to do as it tried using rollout once more hoping to collide with this squirtle.::

Unfortunately, the Squirtle was not quick enough and was slammed by the Graveler's Rollout. It was sucked under by one of the Graveler's vigorous rock spines and hurled out the other side. It lay there with cuts all along it's stomach and numerous scratches on it's shell. Karasu sighed and returned Squirtle. The Graveler now made another u-turn on its Rollout but was surprised to se that its enemy was not there. It eventually came to a halt and looked around.

::It finally saw that it was no longer a bother aganst something that isn't there anymore so it settled down once more as sat there immobile forever until the next trainer would stumble upon it that is...::

Karasu left the Graveler and headed back towards Pewter City. He followed the path back to the main road and walked into Pewter. It was a late dusk now, but if he hurried he could still make it in time for a battle with Brock. He followed the path through the houses towards the Pokemon Center and walked inside.
