| Karasu arrived at the Gym and walked through the sliding doors, into the large rocky arena. It was fairly dark due to the dim overhead lights and and the sun already having set over the horizon. Karasu stepped forward and announced into the darkness, "I am Karasu Matahara, I am here to challenge the Pewter City Gym Leader, Brock." Having said that, Karasu took from his belt his first pokeball he would be using in this battle. | |

| The darkness shadowed what was happening at that time as a voice rang from the void. "I accept your challenge adn we should proceed...." As lights flodded the space which was dark as the night to bright as midday sun. As a person stood at the opposite end and continued what he was saying "Now!" He of course had said this thesame timethe lights had turned on. As he motioned for Karasu to come forward to the space which was for the opposing trainer who would challenge him to a battle as he stood there ready. then the arena changed and boulders and other things representing the mountain terrain appeared on the floor.:: | |

| OOC: Brings back memories of the first few episodes of the origional Pokemon IC: Karasu stepped forward onto the newly formed rocky field. He released from his pokeball Rotom, which eagerly flew into they air, chattering happily. It zoomed to the top of the building and around the hanging lights, with them flickering wildly until he lowered back to a mid-level hover. Karasu stared back at Brock, awaiting his response. | |

| ::Brock sees that you had a ghost pokemon which was surprising for he didn't know that there was any ghost pokemon in the viciity or at least on this side of Mt. Moon. So he throws out a pokeball that explodes and a graveler is revealed out of the innerds of the pokeball. Now the battle was to begin and we're about to see who will be supreme in the pewter city gym.:: | |

| Rotom flew up high again and stared down at the Graveler. It laughed and played around with the lights, almost as if it weren't in a battle at all. It then got a little more serious and took the time to swoop down and shoot a Confuse Ray at it's target. Without even seeing the result, it flew back up again and began swinging the lights from their wires wildly, cheerfully laughing and toying around. | |

| ::The graveler sees that this pokemon is fully serious about the battle. That is until it is hit by a misjudged attack by the pokemon the confuse ray hit as it struck the graveler was semi dazed by it as it used Earthquake hoping that the attack would do some damage of its own as the big rock jumped up into the air and landed with a giant thud making the whole gym shake.:: | |

| The Rotom could see the room shake and the lights swinging, but didn't affect him much as he was hovering high in the air. It laughed at the Graveler some more and swooped down for another Confuse Ray, quickly gliding back up to the large swaying lights. With Rotom being a ghost-type pokemon with the ability to levitate, Rotom was immune to all normal-type or ground-type moves that were inflicted upon it. Karasu knew this, and used this to his advantage. There was a problem, though, as electric-type moves are useless against a pokemon like Graveler, so Karasu previously instructed Rotom to only use Confuse Ray, and the occasional Uproar, to weaken it's enemy slowly. | |

| ::Once again the attack hits the graveler as it is unable to defend itself against the attack. It became semi dissy as it tried to think of someway to defeat this pokemon for Rock-types won't be able to do anything against a simple Ghost-type. As it tries to do a Rock throw as the giant boulders are thrown into the air with such force towards the transparent Rotom.:: | |

| The Rotom was playing so much that it didn't notice the boulder being thrown at it. It was knocked back for a secong, then went intangible, letting the boulder pass through it. It was bruised and a little annoyed so it got a little closer and used Uproar. It chattered around wildly, half-attacking, half-playing, and making a lot of noise. It then shot yet another Confuse Ray at the Graveler far below. | |

| ::Luckily though the graveler was counting on this action for if the ghost had been hit would be on a rampage so he set itself behind a boulder that looked like him as he stood before it as teh attacks hit it and instead of him getting blasted by the uproar and Confuse ray it was the strong boulder that was in front of him. so he had been able to escape n attack of a ghost. It liked its odds as it attempted to use Magnitude which might be avoided might not or at least it thought it would effect the pokemon. As Brock stood behind giving encouraging remarks to the one whom he had nicknamed "Rock" and if he needed it would give it some medicine for he had a little foresight that this battle would harm his Graveler more than the opponenet's Rotom which was unknown to him for all he knew was that it was a ghost-electric based type, but was still confused for he hadn't seen what this pokemon could do, but he had heard of it.:: | |

| The Magnitude was extremely powerful, hitting the scales at around 9, but was unable to hit Rotom with it being a ground-move. Although it did not hit Rotom, the Magnitude misshaped the ground severely, distorting the ground structure and causing rocks to crack and shatter under the Magnitude's intensity. The Rotom looked down at this and was amused at the Graveler's misdirection of power, and swooped down to shoot yet another Confuse Ray at the Graveler. It then turned back up and hovered contently by it's swaying light. | |

| ::The Confuse ray hit him once again after devising to avoid it last time however was hit for his magnitude had changed the ground as it hit making him slam its rocky body into a heavy boulder making it faint because of the duo injury that had occured as Brock returned his beloved Graveler was put to rest he looked at the rotom and threw out another pokebal this one containing a Steelix as the gian steel snake revealed itself from the pokeball almost touchingthe ceiling of the gym. Its eyes looked straight at the rotom in anger for it was ready to do battle with this devious little ghost who apparently was having more fun than an actual battle.:: | |

| OOC: I'm able to switch out my pokemon, too, right? Like in the games?
IC: After Brock recalled the fainted Graveler, Karasu also withdrew Rotom. Karasu threw the next pokeball onto the battlefield, and out of it came Squirtle. It looked up, and saw the giant Steelix looming overhead. It was worried for a bit that all the pokemon had to do was drop down and crush him, but regained his confidence and ran towards it. This was hard to do, however, as the Magnitude attack used by the Graveler had made the battlefield into a rocky wasteland, where large stones were skewed everywhere and a large section of the battlefield had broken off and slided upward with it's other half, creating a large slope between the two. Squirtle had jumped from rock to rock, and when he thought he was close enough, shot a Bubble attack towards the behemoth Steelix's face.

| ::The giant behemoth dodged it by using its tail to block the attack. It still injured him, but it would of been worse if it was straight in the face. Although it wasn't as it brought its stony tail away from its face it answered with an iron tail that became as harder tahn steel itself as it came towards the squirtle it hits sending the tiny turtle flying backward injuring it. As the battlefield is scattered with more bits of the rocky mess that was already there.:: | |

| With the Steelix being as big as it is, Squirtle was hurt drastically by the attack. It wearily got up and looked up at the towering Steelix. It gave a short sigh due to pain, but fired out a few more rounds of Bubble, then hobbled across the rocky terrain to get closer to Steelix. | |

| ::The bubbles fly around the air and dampen everything in saight except for the lights of course. A few shy ones hitting the giant behemoth injuring him for the bubbles are against his type. It injures him as he gives out a cry of pain andnow the whole entire field was now damp as a riverbed and would injure him even more if he tried to move, but he tries to move injuring itself as it moved to use something, anything that will end his usffering. As he unleashes a Rock throw throwing the wet rocks a few missing the squirtle cause of being slippery, but some hitting the tiny turtle. | |

| Squirtle was thrown back into the mud he had created from the last attack. It was injured deeply, and looked as though all it needed was one direct hit to finish it off. Squirtle tried to get up, but failed, due to a mixture of injuries and the slippery mud hindering his balance. Squirtle lay flat on his stomach, and tried to propell itself using his arms, sliding across the damp dirt towards the Steelix towering in the distance. It's head emerged from te mud, only to find the behemoth directly overhead. Steelix's tail thrashed aggressively in an attempt to strike the already injured turtle. Squirtle lay itself deeper in the mud, with only the upper half of it's shell remaining above the watery shelter. With the turtle not moving, it camoflagued itselft into looking like one of the surrounding rocks that lay in the mud around him. It poked it's head out, only for a moment, to bring together what's left of it's energy for one last bubble, aiming directly upwards, at the agressive behemoth, Steelix. | |

| ::As the giant steelix saw this little turtle scuttle around on the sulken mud which was to slippery for it to even move where as Steelix could move. Yet he was distracted for it looked so funny that is until something hits him and discovers its the squirtle as it gives it a glare and the next thing he knows is that a spray of liquid balls came shooting straight into its face which injured him even more as it thrashed even more for know it couldn't quite see and it uses Iron Tail once more it becoming super hard and battering the tutle's shell or sending it flyhing for that matter.:: | |

| Squirtle saw the Iron Tail coming and tried to scurry away, but couldn't due to the slippery mud. It was whacked by the Iron Tail and was sent flying to the other end of the battlefield. It landed head-first into a large pile of mud, with only its feet showing. The mud slowly seeped down the Squirtle, and both trainers could see that it appearently had no energy left to fight. It lay there, fainted and covered with mud, ready to be sent back into its pokeball. With a red flash, the Squirtle dissapeared and the mud that was previously on him splattered to the floor. Karasu sighed, and took out his remaining pokemon from his belt. "I suppose this is my last resort... This'll be interesting..." Another flash of bright red beamed from the pokeball, and Rotom emerged onto the battlefield. It was still slightly harmed from it's last battle, but still cheerful and happy. It looked forward, and noticed his opponent was not the squat Graveler it had battled before, but the huge iron snake, Steelix. Karasu knew that one of it's three damaging moves were completely uneffective towards this towering beast, yet that the two moves, with a little strategy, might be able to win the match. "Rotom, fly to the northwestern ES, away from Steelix, and be wary of anything being thrown your way. When needed, use Confuse Ray before getting close to Steelix, then follow up with Uproar, if the first attack was successful..." Rotom nodded and flew up to a large large hanging light on the opposite side of the room as Steelix, ready to stike down. The light seemed to flicker as it waited for a moment, then spontaneously dived down on towards Steelix, sending a Confuse Ray towards it. | |

| ::The massive beast didn't move fast enough to avoid the confuse ray as he is blasted by it. Although not getting Recoil thank goodness it responded with a move which it wasn't showing that is until now. AS a wind was created carrying tiny pebbles and dust the giant Steelix had unleashed its secret weapon it was using "Hidden Power" which apparently the gym master had given it the TM for that move. AS it unleashed the Sandstorm for that was the element that was dominated there at that second. All of a sudden the mud started to join the chorus of the sandstomr and now not only is there just wind, dust, and pebbles, but also mud.:: | |

| Rotom was unprepared for this attack and was whipped around violently by the mud whirling in the air. The water in the mud reacted with Rotom's plasma-like aura around it's body and was seen by occasional zaps and flashes seen inside the storm. Karasu couldn't see inside of the dust-tornado for a while and hoped that Rotom was still following the plan laid out for him by Karasu before the match. After the storm completely subsided and the battlefield was seen, only Steelix was seen on the arena. The Steelix looked around for it's foe whereas Karasu smirked. All was silent for a moment, except the occasional creaking of the swaying lights from the harsh sand and wind being blown against them. Suddenly, a light near Steelix began to rotate rapidly, spinning on it's base and giving off an electrical hum. It began to glow a faint purple, and a Confuse Ray shot from the bulb straight at Steelix. | |

| ::The steelix was hit by the thundershock as the metal snake was electrocuted feling like it had been struck by the lighthning in a storm. AS it felt energy being robbed from him. As he dodged a confused Ray as it goes past him barely missing him. As it hit the ceiling, but that made a light bounce out and strike the steelix on the head which made him angry. As it started thrashing around once more as it used Iron Tail trying to hit the spectre called "Rotom".:: | |

| The Steelix thrashed angrily, hitting the swinging light that was causing the trouble. It a flash went off and it shattered, removing the light from it's area. Steelix calmed down after seeing he had hit it's target, but noticed yet another lighting structure flash violently and whirl around. The light, still whirling, flung yet another Confuse Ray at Steelix. Rotom was following Karasu's plan efficiently, extracting electrical energy (which Rotom feeds on) from the rooms hanging lights. With it's power being weakest when it is unocupied by a machine, Rotom had possessed the electrical lighting structure to amplify it's power and pester Steelix, using the power cords connecting the lights to manuever around when it was in danger. | |

| ::As he calmed down for he had hit his mark making him proud he got a little overconfident and paid for it dearly by getting hit by the confuse ray and was now beginning to get dizzy. But not bad enogh for his attacks to start missing intentially. As he used Hidden power again this time for the open electrical cords it was able to create a thundershock which was aimed for the Rotom as the yellow spark f forked lines went forward into the specter that was against him as at the same time was losing strength because of all these attacks.:: | |

| The second Hidden Power had caused the electrical cords to rip from the lighting, causing the lights to fade away, then completely lose power, causing everything in the building to be nearly unseeable, with only the faint glow of an occasional floor light to keep the Gym from going into a pitch-black state. Rotom, exhausted from all of the attacks brought unto him, floated in a dark corner of the room, with the eerie glow from its electrical aura giving Rotom and the corner around it a ghostly feel. The Rotom was angry that it didn't have an electrical source to feed off of, and it despised the Steelix for their size and strength difference. It then heard Karasu voice coming from a near-unlit side of the room. "Rotom, you don't have very much time left with you being in this state and without a power source to feed off of. Move in towards Steelix and give your attacks all you've got!" Rotom, inspired by Karasu's confidence in him, rushed towards Steelix, shot a Confuse Ray, and moved in towards the head for an Uproar. | |

Brock didn't like te fact that someone had beaten him. so he withdrew the steelix and congratulated the young trainer giving him the famous "Boulder Badge" and $1,000 for winning as he made for the trainer named Karasu to go and heal up his pokemon at the local Pokecenter.::

| OOC: Any levels for Squirtle and Rotom? IC: Rotom, having used up all of his energy, started to flicker somewhat like a lightbulb, then fainted, slowly hovering to the floor. Karasu returned him, and accepted the badge and thanked Brock for his battle. He walked out of the door of the Gym, and smirked, knowing that his pokemon journey has just begun. He walked down the street, and towards the large Pokemon Center. He gave his pokeballs to a nearby nurse at the counter, and took out his PokeNav. He checked the time, 9:32, and checked for a map of a route through Mt. Moon. He finally brought up a map, and saved it on the device, knowing he would need it later. The nurse returned and handed Karasu his pokeballs with the usual cheerful smile on her face. (OOC: Sorry, doing this because I thought it was a hassle to make a Pokemon Center post, because it would only be around 2-3 pages, anyways...) He walked out of the Pokemon Center and eventually out of Pewter. He followed a path to a sign that pointed him in the direction of the cave. He followed the path until he could see the large, famous, Mt. Moon towering in the distance. He walked closer, listening to the eerie silence of the night, with only the sounds of Kricketune echoing in the nearby forest shrubbery. OOC: Continued in: Forest area: Cave | |
