In Dour need of a Hound (Houndour) CLOSED

Laughing Ashley watched Charcoal dash past her to the giant rock which she had challenged him to race to.
“Quil!” the little Pokémon hollered as he skidded to a stop and tumbled head over feet, coming to a stop resting upside down by the rock. Still snickering gently, Ashley jogged up and righted him.
“Well, let’s hope the next Pokémon we encounter isn’t as much as a speed demon as you are or as cheeky.” She giggled. They had come to the volcano in hopes of finding another Pokémon- preferably a fire Pokémon as they were Ashley’s favourite type-and possibly adding a new teammate for Charcoal.

Charcoal flared his back in happiness and swung around to run off again, his intent to start a game of hide and seek with his trainer but paused when he smelt the air. The mouse Pokémon had a feeling it was the scent of another Pokémon but wasn’t sure what it was or what its purpose was. Was it hostile and waiting to attack or just curious and watching them? He wasn’t sure and looked up at his trainer who asked “What’s wrong Charcoal? Do you smell something?”

“hey!” Ashley was surprised as well by the Houndour. Where had it come from? “Charcoal, Tackle!” she wasn’t sure of Houndour’s ability whether it was Flash fire or not but she decided to keep it safeand stick with tackle.

“Charcoal, are you alright?” The mouse nodded to Ashley, still looking at Houndour. The surprise of the attack had worn off and a thought went through her head “Look Houndour, I don’t know why you attacked Charcoal but we didn’t want any trouble.” Ashley explained “And I understand if you’re protecting your territory and I’m sorry.”

Ashley knelt down by Charcoal, placing a hand on his back and watched in curiosity as Houndour approached them slowly. The little Pokemon took a few steps towards the hound and held out one of his front paws
"Cynda, Cynda Quil." Charcoal told the Houndour, apologizing as well. Houndour had surprised both of them, despite Charcoal having smelt him and his trainer had acted on instinct.

Ashley blinked in surprise as Houndour got within inches of her and reached out a hand slowly to give him a pat. Wild pokemon weren't normally like this were they? She thought to herself. But what Houndour did next surprised her even more. He licked her face! She laughed as it tickled and out of habit, scratched behind his ear. Charcoal grinned, chuckling himself.

(OOC: Thanks! XD I suppose it's kinda better to try make friends with pokemon you want your character to catch rather then fight them.)

Another laugh came from Ashley as he howled and moved his paw in happiness at the scratch.
"I guess you like having scratches huh?" She snickered while he nuzzled her cheek. She noticed he didn't run off after nuzziling her, instead standing very still.
"Charcoal, can you ask him if he wants to come along with us?" She asked her starter, who expressed his likeness of the Houndour by instantly agreeing and did as his trainer asked though he had a feeling the canine Pokemon already understood Ashley. The fire pokemon still asked though, out of politeness and by the fact his trainer had asked him to.
"Cynda, Quil Ynda?" Ashley and Charcoal waited for an answer from the canine.

"I think I'll take that as a yes?" Ashley asked, amused at the way Houndour let his answer be known. Affirmed by when Charcoal nodded she wiped her face as a grin crossed her face. "Now if you can wait a minute while I get a Pokeball out of my ball..." Ashley slid her bag off her shoulder and dug into the pocket holding the pokeballs, drawing one out. Ashley held it out for Houndour with the button facing him, ready for him to press the button whenever he wanted and join their team.
