On the hunt...CLOSED

*Noticing spinarak was becoming exhausted calibretto decides to take a different approach*
Calibretto: " Keep an eye on him, but catch your breath. Spend this round on the defense. Avoid. And watch his movements. "

*Spinarak skittered slowly backwards to a safe distance and simply stood there panting. His eyes trained on the foe intently watching its every movement. Spinarak ready to avoid any oncomming attack takes this round to rest a moment.*

Calibretto: " If he attacks, i want you to attempt to counter it with one more good poison sting. Otherwise let the poison in his system do its job and try to stay at a safe distance."

*The tail-whip lowered spinarak's defense a little. Spinarak continued to follow his last orders and keep on the defensive, watching as arcanine gets weaker from the poison. Spinarak continues to keep his distance though, forcing arcanine to move more if it wants to get any closer.*

*Spinarak attempts to dodge but only manages to flip off to the side enough to avoid the largest portion of the fire, unfortunatly it wasnt enough to completely save it. The fire singed the side of spinarak and damaged it badly enough to bring it down to the point of passing out. It was holding on with everything it had, the slightest hit would knock it out now. Calibretto and spinarak both hoped it could outlast the arcanine, hoping the poison would finish it off.*

Calibretto: " Spinarak. Impressive work. You and tangela are going to have to spar soon. For now though i need you to rest. Ill need you in top condition for your spar with her. "

*Calibretto returns spinarak, pockets his cash, and pockets his HM, and then turns to look at the boy.*

Calibretto: " Now. There was speak of someone with whom i could get a teddiursa from. "

*Calibretto stares at the tree cluster in the way. Knowing neither of his pokemon could use the HM he had just aquired he cocks his head to the side and shrugs. Thinking to himself "If this were a video game id be in trouble. Thankfully there are other solutions to life's problems than the obvious. And sometimes the extreme obvious IS the solution". At qhich point he takes a running leap and grabs ahold of one of its branches and pull's himself up just enough to fling himself feet first through a few more branches like some of the mankey he'd helped back in the lab ages ago. One of the many , MANY pokemon he's studied. Granted calibretto wasnt nearly as graceful as the monkey pokemon who easily swing through tree's he still managed to work his way quickly to the other side. Hopping out and landing on his feet with a dull THUD. Clearing the branch'es and twigs from his hair he dusts himself off and moves along.*

Calibretto: " Now... ill need to aquire a tauros before i get to that lady. Some types of tauros do enjoy open feilds to roam and graze in. "

*Calibretto peers around to a bare spot of field suitable for possible grazing and then moves along in that direction.*

Calibretto: " So many different pokemon. No where near enough time to aquire the collection i want. Oh well. Peice by peice we gather more. "

*With that, he lets out a sigh and moves along*

*Stopping in his tracks and staring at the scyther who'd leaped infront of him, calibretto begins to reach for his pokeball's when he realised only one of his pokemon was in fighting condition.*
Calibretto: " Oh i cant pass up this opprotunity. I'll track down a metal coat to digitize you with later. For now though, ill definatly need to be capturing you. "

*Calibretto picks a pokeball from his belt and releases tangela at his feet. She wriggles and wiggles with happyness before noticing the angry scyther. Quickly she bounces forward in an aggressive stance. A couple of her tendrils worm their way out a little bit and begin wiggling more. She appears to be letting scyther know she's not going to back down.*

Calibretto: " Alright tangela. Lets start this off light. I want to see what scyther can do before we take it in. Stay defensive. Watch its movements. Ready a constrict attack. If it gets in range latch onto it with your vines. Constrict it hard and hold on, its bound to try and shake you off, but dont let go. Try and wrap it COMPLETELY with your vines if you can get the chance to do so. "

*Tangela extends a few more vines from her body as she readies herself. Tangela's vines are numerous and very long all tightly compacted into her tiny body. If scyther gets too close she will do everything she can to latch on and wrap it up like a fly caught in a spiderweb.*

*Tangela wriggled with excitement as scyther moved in fast. She stepped to the side abit at the last second and let the attack hit, however it didnt hit exactly like scyther wanted. It still hit her, it just didnt hit full force, and now scyther has a mass of tangled vines attached to its torso slowly wrapping vines around other parts of its body. Tangela has allowed scyther's attack to hit so she could guarantee her constrict attack would land as well , since scyther wouldnt have time to counter. She's now constricting and trying to get the rest of scyther wrapped in vines as she squeezes it*

*As the tendrils wrapping scyther were a part of her body, they were in fact some of the many many vines she is composed of, she squeaked in agony abit as scyther attempted to cut through them. He managed to injur her slightly , but did not manage to cut the vines. Tangela was able to wriggle them just enough to avoid being cut through. She then repositions some of them while more and more vines continue wrapping around scyther. The squeezing pressure isnt overwhelmingly powerful, she is afterall not a physical powerhouse. But the constricting was causing scyther abit of pain as it dealt small ammounts of damage every couple of seconds. The constricting did get tighter and tighter however. What was a dull annoyance was quickly becomming more of an alarming threat as the scyther was over half-wrapped now. Soon it would be almost completely covered and in alot more pain if it couldnt figure a way to wriggle free or overpower this small bundle of vines slowly crushing it. *

Calibretto: " Interesting. A scyther this young that know's false swipe. That has got to be one of my favorite moves. Alright. Lets see how strong his will-power is. Tangela, swarm and dust him. "

*Tangela hops to a fighting pose. She begins shaking slightly but then breaks into a full fledge run. At a decent speed she seems to be making a head-long run ... but not at scyther. Instead she seems to be veering to his side as if she's going to miss all together, by a longshot. She makes a HARD turn after having missed and begins running again at scyther. And again she misses. The entire time she's running a thin blue sparkly trail is rushing to catch up behind her. After a few moments she will have ran circles around scyther, being careful not to get very close, but making sure to surround him a couple of times while the once thin cloud of blue sparkles seems to be getting very dense. If someone was looking down from above it would seem a thick ring of blue fog has surrounded scyther. And tangela is standing a few feet away pouring more sleep powder out like a fog machine. With a rather large display of the sleep powder move she seems to be losing abit of energy, growing abit more tired than she normally would. A bead of sweat appears directly next to her face. She may be winded, but there is a LOT of sleep powder around.*

Calibretto: " Appears to be damaged well enough. I hope to not have to beat it into a complete pulp. "

*With the sleep powder still floating around the scyther, tangela takes a few steps back with happyness as it watches its master pull out an empty pokeball. Calibretto takes a few steps forward, and launches a pokeball dead aimed for the sleeping scyther's chest*

*Calibretto calls tangela over and has her ingrain herself while he sits next to her and calls out spinarak and scyther. Spinarak appears beat up pretty bad. Scyther is passed out cold on the ground*

Calibretto: " Tangela, Raise some roots around us like a tiny hut so spinarak and scyther can rest a little better outside of the pokeball. Continue to absorb some health yourself to regain what you may have lost during the last battle. You all did well, and as soon as i can track down this tauros we can nab it and head to that lady the last guy spoke about. You all can have a nice long rest at the poke-center just as soon as we get there while i do the trading of tauros for teddiursa. We're so close. Rest now and regain at least SOME health while i try and figure out where to go next. "

*Calibretto peeked out of the tiny slits between the roots that had risen around everyone in a protective shell and began formulating where they should go next. After only a couple short hours of calculations, and a small cat-nap he woke tangela up and had her retract the roots so they could move on. After returning everyone to their pokeball's calibretto put away the pokeball's and began heading in the predetermined direction. He knew his pokemon had not regained ALL of their health, however every little bit helped. And he'd hoped he was right about where that tauros herd should be.*

(OOC: We are headed in the direction towards the field near the town he needed to go to anyway. He's hoping to come across the trade-tauros along the way to the next towns poke-center.)

*Calibretto pops open the pokedex and takes a quick scan. After a second of thought he decides against it. Instead he moves along away from the nidoran towards his current goal. He mutter's to himself about comming back for the nidoran later*

*Calibretto smiles. With very slow and non-threatning motions he gently grabs the pokeball from his belt and presses the button which releases a lightning fast bolt of red energy that quickly forms into scyther who stands on the defensive.*

Calibretto: " Time to see how well you can execute orders. Scyther, i want a critical hit. Focus Energy should give you such a boost that you quadrouple your ability to make a criticla hit. So focus and be ready! "

*Scyther stands ready to do battle, its scythe's gleaming brightly as it brings both up to bear. Scyther's body gains a strong glowing aura that increases for a moment and seems to be absorbed by his entire body. A vicious smile spreads across his maw.*

Calibretto: " I dont want him unconscious yet. False Swipe. Hit him fast and hit him hard! "

*Scyther's blinding speed actually DID come in handy as he quickly and easily steps over the rampaging bull in a single wing fluttering bounce and with a bolting jet of his speed he rushes directly up the backside of the still rampaging bull. And with a lightning flash of his scythes delivers a back-handed slam that uses the dull side of his scythe's instead of the razor sharp blades. The aura he charged in the previous round flash's for a second as the scythe's slammed with massive force into the bull's back. Even if a critical hit would have completely disabled this pokemon, the fact scyther was using false swipe means it would be left with at LEAST one hit point left, even if that means its dizzy and in massive pain.*

Calibretto: " Good. Be prepared for his retaliation and brace yourself. "

*Scyther brought both arms up and infront of it just in time for the massive stomp from the tauros to crash into him. But instead of instantly collapsing the mantis bug was able to hold off the heavy hooves for a second or two , just enough time to quickly move back and away. With a quick swipe away with both arms it knocked the hooves off its arms as it leaped backwards. Scyther's wings immediatly kicked into action and scyther took to the air. Hovering a few feet of the ground the bug's body began to slightly glow as it sped forward with insane speed, flying a couple feet off the ground it sped with unimaginable speed towards the bull, blades extended. The Quick Attack came so quickly towards the bull it was cutting the wind itself.*

(I thought I had said that it did hit, but oh well I'll switch my strategy/defense)

*Scyther's quick attack met tauros's headbutt with a deadenning -THUNK-. Tauros's eyes almost went crosseyed and scyther's body bounced backwards like a rag doll. Scyther landed akwardly and stumbled left and right a little bit. Unfortunatly this entire round was wasted as scyther was unable to see straight. Hopefully next time scyther will remember not to run at full speed into a stone wall like tauros's head.*


(Tauros's headbutt hit Scyther's quickattack, both attacks smacked into eachother. Scyther is dizzy this round. Tauros is used to heatbutting so he's not as dizzy.)

(Yeah I didn't get confused that time thanks for the note though)

*Vaguely hearing calibretto's command of false swipe yet again the bruised and damaged scyther tried to right its vision and focus. Taking a few stumbled steps it quickly lead into a very fast and very vicious charge, Tauros's taunting tail-whip had angered the scyther causing it to be more enraged and less paying attention to its surroundings, slightly lowering its defenses. And in a flash scyther was in tauros's face slamming a false swipe across its head, backside of the arm crashing against the bull in a blunt crack.*

(False swipe's japanese name is "blunt strike" which is a reference to a strike with the blunt side of a sword instead of the bladed side. So as to not kill, but still injure. Thats also why it always leaves them with 1hp even if its "critical hit". Its also the only move that can deal 0 damage , but only if the opponent already has only 1hp.)


(I gave that explanation of false swipe so you could understand why scyther's hitting with the blunt side of his scythes instead of the razor sharp edge that can usually cut boulders.)

(Nahhh really I thought False swipe was a swipethat didn't hit! lol)

*The hoof hit scyther dead in the chest sending it flying back once more tumbling backwards away from the large bull. In mid tumble scyther's wings flutter harshly for a second as he turns his tumble into one last backflip and lands on his feet. Panting for breath, and seeming almost at half health if even that much scyther takes a moment.*


Calibretto: " Alright. This time dont get in too close. Vacuum wave is originally a fighting type move, and is super effective against normal type pokemon like tauros. Stay at a distance. And hit him with Vacuum Wave. "

*Scyther's wings flutter as it leaps back a step and prepares to move on the defensive. Keeping an eye on tauros it makes sure to keep the same distance between itself. If tauros moves closer, scyther moves back or to the side enough to stay the same distance. Bringing both blades up scyther begins to vibrate its blades rapidly. The arms dont appear to be moving around that much, but they are vibrating very quickly, almost like its wings. And with one swift circle motion and a following slice into it a wave fire's forth crashing down upon the opponent faster than tauros can blink.*

(Vacuum Wave will go first regardless of the user's or target's speed. Its like Aqua Jet, Bide, Bullet Punch, Extreme Speed, Fake out, ice shard, mach punch, quick attack, shadow sneak , and sucker punch in that it always goes first.)

*Scyther clangs his scyth's together once and continues to lead tauros around. Every time tauros tries to charge in using rage to hit it, scyther leaps to the side or leaps over the bull. After a moment of dodging the bull scyther hears calibretto call for one more false swipe. He waits for tauros to get in real close with its charge , bringing his scythe back and at the ready. When tauros gets within two feet of him scyther drops to a squat and leaps forward with a grunt, flinging its arm directly into the side of tauros's head. The attack had the downfall of being so close , with tauros's rage in full beam that the rage attack knocked scyther into the air where it tried to right itself by fluttering its wings enough to stop spinning. The false swipe attack should have connected but scyther didnt get to see if it did or not before he was thrust into the air. A few seconds after the connecting attacks a pokeball fly's out of nowhere into tauros' face. Calibretto waits to see the outcome.*

*Calibretto retreived scyther and the tauros and immediately headed for town. More specifically the part of town the person seeking the tauros trade was in!*

(Hmm..good question well its outside of town so..yeah I guess so pewter right?)

And so you start your journey finally getting what you where looking for and now off to Pewter city or more like the outskirts of town to trade the Tauros for the Teddiursa. As you head down the path trying not to bump into any trainers or any other pokemon who wanted to batle and take even more timefrom you. You finally get there taking detours and other means of trying to avoid others it finally was dark and you saw a single light shining a land of darkness with other lights that where coming on one by one. You had finally reached Pewter City!
