We're on the Road to Vermillion City...

Lowell packs up his stuff, and continues his journey, traveling the scenic route towards Vermillion. He stops to eat lunch, about a third of the way there. He enjoys the nice scenery, with the bird Pokemon slowly swooping above.

You continue on the road. You blink seeing that all signs of life are now gone. You reach down and grab Wartortle's pokeball.

Lowell looks around cautiously. "This time of day, completely deserted?" He does a 360* turn, then slowly walks forward.

You continue to walk. This time carfully looking out for anything werid. You hear a loud click and look down. You stepped on a small metal object. "Look out!!" Someone pushs you away, a loud explosion is heard.

Lowell falls into a bush, and drops a couple of his Pokeballs. He quickly picks them up, and brushes the dust from his jacket. He gets up out of the bush and looks around.

"Thank god, your okay!" You look over a see a girl with bright blond hair and brown eyes. "I'm Christine. Whats your name?"

Lowell gets the last of the dust and debris off of his jacket. "Lowell. From Cerulean City. Pleased to meet you, although the circumstances could be better. What was that...?"

"A mine, made by team rocket, wait your Lowell?" Christine smiles. "Saroya told me about you!"

"You know Saroya? That's cool." Lowell checks for any cuts and bruises; he has only a few. "Why did Team Rocket plant a mine here?"

"They don't want anyone to come here. The next town your heading for has been taken over by Rocket. Saroya's there fighting." Christine stands up. "We have to be carefull walking through here."

"I see. So they just came in and invaded the town? Kind of bold for them, from what I've seen." Lowell starts walking in Vermillion's direction. "We should take the long route around. They probably haven't mined it heavily, but there isn't much of a road there..."

Christine nods. "Good point, and yeah it was pretty bold. I think Saroya knows why, but when we asked her she ran off saying she had to stop them."

"OK. Let's get going, then. Still have a two hour's walk to get there." Lowell diverts from the road, walking up a gentle incline. There's a cleared path of grass at the top, and Lowell starts to walk down it, slowly twisting away from the main road.

Christine follows. She takes out a small Poke'Nav. "DJ? You there?" Christine talks to the other person on the line before swiching off her Poke'Nav. "My friend DJ is a few miles ahead of us. he has some flying pokemon with him that could take us to town quicker."

"That sounds good. Where should we meet them?" Lowell says.

"He should be here now." A large Pidgeot flys down from the sky landing in front of you. A boy your age with dark brown hair with green eyes looks at you then Christine. "This Lowell?" He asks Christine. She noddes. He looks to you and smuiles. "Names DJ and I'll be your ride."

Lowell nods to him. "Cool. How fast can you get us to Vermillion City?" He asks.

"Hmm, in 10 minutes without trouble. Hop on!" Dj jumps onto the large bird Christine and you follow. "Alrigh Dash lets go!" DJ yells to his pokemon how quickly takes to the air at fast speeds making you grip its back for dear life.

Lowell hangs on, and watches the scenery beneath go by. In the distance, the ocean shimmers a bright blue. We finally make it to Vermillion City, and the Team Rocket takeover is obvious, even from here. "Lots of thugs roaming around." Lowell examines.

"Yeah, thankfully where safe up here." DJ says looking down. "Where's Saroya?" Christine smiles. "There she is! She's coming to us!" Truth be told Saroya stood up riding her own Pidgeot coming upward to them. "Hey guys! See you've meet Lowell!"

"Yeah, Christine saved me from one of Rocket's mines." Lowell said. "So why did they take over here, anyway?" Lowell asks Saroya curiously.

Saroya swallows. "I-I can't say right now, I need to clarify it first, but if it is what I think it is...God help us." Saroya looks down at the city. "Oh Damnit!" She screams. "DJ move 19!" The boy noddes. "Lowell hang on!" Saroya has Pidgeot do a downward flip and DJ follows. Avoiding what looks like gun shots. "We need to get on the ground!" DJ yells. Saroya noddes. Both of them head down to the city with you and Christine.
